As a leader in plant-based nutrition, Erbology is taking powerful plants and making them accessible every day in a delicious range of foods and drinks.
United States. October 3rd, 2019 – Plant-based food company Erbology is creating unique, great-tasting snacks, drinks and pantry foods with ingredients such as sea buckthorn, nopal cactus and sprouted buckwheat. Founded by siblings who’ve been inspired by the plants they grew up with and enjoyed as part of their diet, Erbology is changing the quality of nutrition and the way nutrients are consumed, promoting the benefits of a varied plant-based diet.
More than 90% of the $13 billion U.S. supplement market is made up of synthetic supplements. Studies have shown that the human body cannot process nutrients in these supplements in the same way it does in natural foods. The question of whether these products do more harm or good looms over this gargantuan industry and, with the answer waiting 50 years down the line.
What we know for certain however, is that eating whole foods makes people feel healthier and happier. And synthetic supplements cannot replace that.
In 2016, siblings Irina and Victor Turcan set off on a mission to change the quality of nutrition. Erbology was inspired by the plants the Turcan siblings grew up with and enjoyed as part of their diet. The team at Erbology is passionate about discovering unique ways to combine medicinal plants into foods that help improve your quality of life.
Erbology was launched as a response to today’s fast-paced lifestyles, intensive agriculture practices and excessive consumption of processed and synthetic foods. Erbology is helping people to return to what health truly encompasses, not only healthy eating, but also healthy movement and thought.
The concept of simplicity is encompassed by everything they do, from the recipes they develop to their minimal packaging design and sustainable materials.
ERBOLOGY HAS BEEN GROWING FAST.
Erbology was launched in the United Kingdom and California, USA. In Los Angeles, Erbology secured its first partnership with Erewhon, the leading natural and organic food and wellness retailer with locations in Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, Pacific Palisades and Calabasas. Since then, Erbology has partnered with other retailers, juice bars, and hotels in California. In the UK, the company secured partnerships with the most forward-thinking retailers, including Ocado, Planet Organic, Revital and others.
In 2017, Erbology won two grants from the Nutrition Greenhouse program and launched an innovative range of snacks with two objectives – to promote digestion and to create great-tasting foods that are free from gluten, added sugar or chemicals.
Erbology products are organic, non-GMO, gluten-free, free from refined sugar and on a mission to create a positive impact on the world around us.
The company creates wholesome snacks, drinks, powders and oils from powerful plants that complement each other. Erbology is constantly digging up new ways to integrate nature’s marvels in ways that can add a touch of excitement into our busy lives.
Erbology oils are unrefined, the powders are raw and the juices are undiluted and unsweetened. Following the success of its pantry products, the company released an innovative range of snacks, including activated crackers, granola and energy bites.
Erbology energy bites are hand-rolled with its bestselling Jerusalem artichoke (sunchoke) powder; the crackers are made with sprouted buckwheat; and the granola is a totally new kind of snack made with tigernut tubers. The exceptional nutritional profile of this range is further boosted by plants such as aronia and sea buckthorn berries. These powerful plants are already enjoyed by the Erbology community in the form of powders, juices and oils.
Nutritious, gut-friendly and satisfying, Erbology snacks are an excellent source of fiber and contain an array of naturally occurring vitamins, mineral and antioxidants. The range is raw, gluten-free, 100% plant-based and free from refined sugar.
Irina Turcan commented:
“Our snacks are different. Over the past few years the Erbology community has enjoyed the benefits of our plants in the form of oils, powders and juices of the highest quality. We want these plants to be accessible to a wide audience. That’s why we are now adding them into our snacks; and by doing so, we are setting the bar for the industry high. We want to make sure you source your energy from the best ingredients your body will love. No compromise.”
Erbology Crackers (RRP $2.99, 1.8oz) come with notes of sun-dried Greek olives and coriander; warm tones of Garam Masala spice; and traditional Georgian savory plum sauce known as Tkemali. All three flavors are made with sprouted buckwheat. A staple of the founders’ childhood, buckwheat is a source of magnesium, iron, B vitamins and essential amino acids. Through sprouting, buckwheat becomes enriched with phytonutrients and live enzymes.
“Erbology is all about the discovery. For our snacking range, we love taking traditional flavors, often common to specific regions around the world, and combining them with our favorite plants to create delicious flavors. We constantly innovate and want our community to experience new flavors and foods that are good for them. There is nothing more rewarding than your customers telling you how much they love your product and how it has improved their lives.”
Erbology Tigernut Granola (RRP $9.99, 7.8oz / $2.99 1.8oz) is a totally new kind of granola. Tigernuts are a sweet vegetable root high in fiber and minerals. Tigernuts blend perfectly with sprouted buckwheat and come in three different flavors: nopal and chia; Jerusalem artichoke and dark chocolate; and a high-power berry duo, sea buckthorn and aronia.
Erbology Energy Bites (RRP $2.99, 1.4oz) are made with delicious Jerusalem artichoke tubers, one of the best sources of inulin fiber. Sweetened with apricots, raisins or dates, these wholesome energy bites are each flavored with a special ingredient. Choose from nopal; aronia berries; or coconut blended with cacao. Enjoy them before workout or as an afternoon treat.
